Quick & Easy Baking Recipes You Can Make While Cleaning

Cinnamon, apple, vanilla, pumpkin, cloves, pine, turkey, ham, what do these have in common? Yes!! They smell delicious! With the fall deep cleaning all done, wouldn’t you agree the best part of the holidays is making memories? Here at Top to Bottom Cleaning and Handyman Services, we know there’s nothing quite like that cozy feeling of a clean home—except maybe when it’s full of the scent of something baking in the oven.


So, we thought we’d share a few of our favorite quick and easy baking recipes you can whip up while tidying around the house. After all, who says you can’t do both? Whether you’re tidying up one last time before company arrives or just looking to make the holidays extra memorable, these recipes will make your house feel even more like home. 





1. Cinnamon Sugar Pretzel Bites

These cinnamon sugar pretzel bites are easy to make and perfect for snacking while you finish up the last bit of cleaning.

Ingredients:

  • 1 can refrigerated biscuit dough

  • 4 cups water

  • ¼ cup baking soda

  • ½ cup sugar

  • 1 tsp cinnamon

  • ¼ cup melted butter

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. Cut each biscuit into four pieces and roll each piece into a small ball.

  3. In a pot, bring water to a boil and add the baking soda.

  4. Drop biscuit balls into the boiling water for 30 seconds, then place them on the baking sheet.

  5. Bake for 8–10 minutes, until golden brown.

  6. Mix the cinnamon and sugar together in a small bowl.

  7. Brush the baked pretzel bites with melted butter and roll them in the cinnamon sugar mixture.

Tip: While the bites bake, you can start a quick kitchen counter wipe-down. Once they’re done, enjoy a warm treat while admiring your spotless counters!



2. Holiday Chocolate Bark

This no-bake recipe is a holiday favorite and perfect if you want a quick, crowd-pleasing treat without a lot of fuss.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups dark or milk chocolate chips

  • 1 cup white chocolate chips

  • ½ cup crushed candy canes or holiday sprinkles

  • Optional toppings: nuts, dried cranberries, mini marshmallows

Instructions:

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. Melt the dark or milk chocolate chips in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between each until smooth.

  3. Pour the melted chocolate onto the baking sheet and spread into an even layer.

  4. Melt the white chocolate in the microwave, then drizzle it over the dark chocolate.

  5. Use a toothpick or knife to swirl the chocolates together.

  6. Sprinkle crushed candy canes, nuts, or other toppings over the chocolate.

  7. Chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes or until firm. Break into pieces and enjoy!

Tip: Let the chocolate chill while you vacuum or do a quick dusting around the house. By the time you’re done, your chocolate bark will be ready to enjoy.



3. Three-Ingredient Peanut Butter Cookies

These peanut butter cookies are unbelievably simple but so delicious—perfect for making a quick batch while you wrap up your holiday cleaning.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup peanut butter

  • 1 cup sugar

  • 1 egg

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the peanut butter, sugar, and egg until smooth.

  3. Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and place them on the baking sheet.

  4. Use a fork to press down each ball and create a crisscross pattern.

  5. Bake for 10 minutes or until the edges are golden.

Tip: While these cookies bake, take a few minutes to tidy up any other holiday clutter. The cookies will be ready to enjoy as soon as you’re done!



4. Fruit Preserves/Jam Cheese Crescent Rolls

These preserve/jam crescents are bite-sized delights that are great for guests or indulging while you check off your holiday to-do list.

Ingredients:

  • 2 packages of crescent rolls

  • One container of whipped cream cheese

  • Your favorite preserves/jam

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to package instructions and grease a muffin tin.

  2. Roll out the crescent rolls and place one triangle piece into each muffin tin lying across 

  3. At the wide end, add a small spoonful of the whip cream onto the crescent followed by a spoonful of the preserve/jam of your choice.

  4. Roll the crescent starting from the wide end, making sure the tip is on top

  5. Bake for 15–20 minutes, until the filling is set and the crust is golden.

Tip: While these bake, do a quick sweep or polish around the dining room. When you finish, your fruity crescents will be ready to set out for guests or enjoy yourself.
